Mandela’s Graça Machel To Be Kicked Out After The 40 Day Mourning Period

SOUTH AFRICA – A raging war has broken out in Nelson Mandela’s family. Its members are fighting over his estate and are moving to kick out his widow, Graça Machel, from the house she shared with her late husband.

The past six months have been a nightmare for Machel as the world’s beloved statesman lay dying. She has endured rejection and abuse from some members of the sprawling Mandela dynasty. Six sources inside and outside the Mandela household have told City Press that:

• Machel was told by members of the Mandela family that she should leave the Houghton home as soon as Madiba died;

• There was a massive row in the weeks before his death between Machel and grandson Ndaba in which household members had to intervene;

• Mandela’s eldest daughter, Makaziwe, often refuses to speak to Machel; and

• Makaziwe has verbally abused staff and repeatedly insisted she alone will determine how to divide the spoils of Mandela’s estate.

Attempts to obtain any comment from the family were unsuccessful. Voice, text and Facebook messages, as well as emails, went unanswered as were questions sent to Makaziwe and Ndaba Mandela through their lawyer on Friday.

Machel’s personal assistant said the widow could not comment because she was in mourning.

The feuding and tension is over two issues – control over the Mandela legacy and control over his money.

Last weekend’s funeral saw all of this coming to the fore despite a more contained and unified face to the public.

Sources in the Mandela household and the family, as well as family friends, say the Mandelas have never really accepted Machel. She is often rejected, excluded and often simply ignored.

But simmering hostilities erupted into bitter feuding when, earlier this year, grandson Ndaba Mandela, who lives in the Houghton home, had a raging row with Machel. He allegedly accused her of being an opportunist and of stealing his grandfather’s money.

At one point, household sources told City Press “he even tried to attack her physically but was restrained from doing so after the intervention of household staff”.

Another close family friend said: “I don’t know where they get the idea that there is all this money. Trusts were set up and each member was taken care of. Other than that, there are no hidden sums of money tucked away.”

As one staff member said: “They all hate Graa and believe there is a lot more money than there really is and that she is hiding it.

“Mandela looked after every child and grandchild but they seem to think there is a lot more money and want to get their hands on it.”

In fact, there was not enough money and they did not even have enough to pay the bills.

“Previously, there was always some benefactor who would come to the rescue. But then Mandela got sick and the funds started drying up, ”said the staff member.

Another family member said the suspicion remains “that Graa has spent all the money”.

However, Machel, like other family members, had been taken care of by Mandela but also has her own income and a separately funded charity foundation.

Before Mandela fell ill, she was told by some of his family members that she “should watch out” as “she would be kicked out of the Houghton house as soon as Tata died”.

Machel has already bought another home in Bryanston and is expected to move in once the mourning period for Mandela is over. She spent the week after the funeral at Mandela’s Qunu residence and only returned to Houghton this weekend.

However, it’s unlikely that Machel found much peace in Qunu. Her eldest stepchild, Makaziwe Mandela, flew there after the memorial service at Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium and reduced staff to tears as she “stomped around the place, barking orders”.

A family friend who visited the house immediately after Mandela died, said Makaziwe was already throwing her weight around insisting that “she would determine who would get which Mandela house”.

Staff and family members said that before her father was discharged from the Pretoria Heart Hospital, Makaziwe insisted on a massive renovation of the Houghton home’s kitchen. At family gatherings during this period, she refused to spend her own money and insisted that the Mandela household account be used to pay for all expenses.

However, staff say that Makaziwe, the other children and grandchildren barely visited Mandela when he was in Qunu. A close family member said: “They couldn’t care less about him. They just dumped him in the care of staff and Graa for months on end.”

Another added: “Maki hardly ever went to visit him so nobody can understand what’s going on with her and why she is suddenly all over this.”

These revelations follow eight months of working on the story, during which at least 22 different people have been interviewed including staff members, family, family friends and ANC officials.
In the coming weeks, attention will turn to Mandela’s will. Attempts to gain control of his trust by daughters Zenani and Makaziwe earlier this year failed.

The pair tried to sue for the removal of George Bizos, Tokyo Sexwale, Bally Chuene and Eastern Cape Judge President Themba Sangoni as directors of two companies owned by the Mandela Trust. But they eventually withdrew their application and paid the costs of the proceedings.

The family was severely rebuked in a statement issued by law firm Norton Rose Fulbright on behalf of the directors.

“This ill-considered and misguided application had the effect of causing reputational harm not only to the respondents as directors and trustees but also to the trust and the image of the founder, Mr Nelson Mandela, himself.”

The battle for the Mandela inheritance has not yet begun.

Said one family friend:“This environment is toxic. It goes against everything that Mandela fought for.”

Nelson Mandela Died In June; Family Finally Admit

Nelson Mandela’s funeral was planned a year ago. The Nelson Mandela family has finally admitted that Nelson Mandela is dead by announcing on December 5th (2013) that the former leader of South Africa is no longer with us.

The charade began in June of 2013, and Guardian Express has maintained Mandela has been deceased since we were informed of his passing in June via one of our reporters embedded in South Africa. That reporter had received a text message from her close friend who works for the South African News which stated that Mandela had died the night prior.

Since June, The Guardian Express has come under attack; first from a “denial of service” attack which shut the site down on and off for three days right after we published the news that Mandela had died. That denial of service attack was traced back to South Africa.

The Guardian Express was also attacked by people denying that the Nelson Mandela family was carrying on a charade. However, we stood by and continue to stand by our account that Mandela was declared permanently brain dead with total organ failure in June of 2013. Now, today, the family has finally decided to give up their charade.

We sent an additional reporter to South Africa who returned with an audio recording of two top government officials confirming the fact that Mandela was totally brain dead and was declared so on June 11. However, his family refused to turn off the life support machines hooked up to his body. Thus, the family could keep him artificially “alive.” Their motive? To settle a huge lawsuit against Mandela’s estate.

It was revealed that Mandela’s family was suing him for control of his estate and since it is impossible to sue a dead person, it seems Mandela had to be kept “alive” with machines until a resolution could be found for the lawsuit. Thus far, there is no word on whether that lawsuit had been settled, but there are already many speculations in the press that this announcement today will begin the battles over the Mandela estate afresh.

The Mandela daughters and granddaughters have shown a good deal of greed when it comes to Mandela’s legacy. It has been reported that their fighting over his money got so bad that Mandela “lost faith” in his daughters and worried that their concern over money was overshadowing their concern for family harmony.

The Mandela funeral was planned a year in advance, according to reports. The funeral date is set for December 14 and there is a comprehensive schedule of events leading up to that date. The Mandela family has finally given up their charade which they have been carrying on since June and have admitted the former South African leader is dead. – The Guardian Express

Michelle Slaps Danish Prime Minister And Tells Her “To Stay Away From Obama Or Else”

(PIC) Calm before the storm: Michelle Obama displays all signs of a black woman ready for a fight

(PIC) Calm before the storm: Michelle Obama displays all signs of a black woman ready for a fight

Those who saw the spectacle claim that the usually composed Michelle Obama showed her ghetto side, and was ready to take off her earrings in favour of a good street fight.

JOHANNESBURG – Reports of rivalry between Denmark’s prime minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt and Michelle Obama has been reeking political corridors for quite sometime, but it was only until yesterday that this long standing rumor was confirmed.

According to well placed sources from the White House, the rivalry was not ignited by an innocent yet mischievous selfie between Thorning-Schmidt and US president Barack Obama, but drama between the two States’ women has been brewing since their sorority days.

In an unreported incident which allegedly took place after the memorial service, a cat fight between the two happened at the late Nelson Mandela’s home in Houghton, Johannesburg.

“Michelle was clearly livid that Obama would even entertain taking a selfie with Helle, knowing very well how she hated the woman. Who wouldn’t? We are dealing with a Danish woman here. Those women remain uncontested when coming to who can drop their panties the fastest,” confided one political insider who saw the drama.

“We all saw Helle’s flirtatious gestures at the memorial service, and how pissed Michelle was. Let’s just say, Helle knows how to press the right buttons. The giggles between Barack and Helle got so alarming that Mrs. Obama ordered her husband to change seats or else their marriage will follow Madiba to the grave,” the insider added.

According to security personnel, the skirmishing erupted shortly after their arrival in Houghton, with Michelle calling Helle “a Danish man eater”.

It is alleged that Thorning-Schmidt was about to enter the main entrance hall where all media was barred, making it impossible for any journalist to see, let alone capture the action. Insiders claim Mrs. Obama suddenly emerged from behind like Queen Latifah in Set It Off, poked Helle and said “I’m talking to you b*tch!”.

“All hell broke loose. Before we knew it, Michelle slapped Helle sooo hard and gave her a stern warning to keep her dirty claws off her man or else…

“Michelle is a true ghetto queen, she reminds me of Madea…. I doubt Helle will look at another black married man again after this,” claimed another security deep throat who refused to be named.

It is alleged that Helle’s bodyguards quickly intervened, and the two where summoned to an impromptu meeting mediated by seasoned gay rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Dignitaries present at the smackdown were instructed to keep the incident under wraps in honor of Nelson Mandela’s memory.

The White House and Danish Ministry did not deny nor confirm the incident, but both offices said an official statement will be released once “the matter has been resolved”.

“God Hates South Africa & Nelson Mandela Has Split Hell Wide Open,” Says Christian Cult To Picket At Madiba’s Funeral

Westboro Baptist Churchs Steve Drain told eNCA.com in an exclusive interview that members of the cult organisation were planning on picketing Nelson Mandelas funeral in an effort to reveal that his “philandering” have brought God’s wrath on the country.

JOHANNESBURG – While the world and its leaders paid their deepest respects to late Statesman Nelson Mandela this week, an extremist Christian group in the United States has been planning to picket his funeral.

Speaking in an exclusive Skype interview, the Westboro Baptist Church told eNCA.com that “God hates South Africa” and “Nelson Mandela has “split hell wide open.”

Westboro elder Steve Drain said he and other members of the Kansas-based church want to bring this message over the Atlantic to tell the country this weekend, during Mandela’s official State funeral in Qunu.

Members of the notorious cult church posted videos and pictures of posters reading “Mandela in hell” and “Divorce + remarriage = adultery” on social media sites throughout the week, indicating their intention to fly to South Africa to speak out against Mandela’s “philandering” ways.

“The Lord Jesus Christ preached vehemently against divorce… and somebody who you’re lauding and well nigh on worshipping as a dead man, Nelson Mandela… his wife is Evelyn,” said church elder Steve Drain in an exclusive Skype interview with eNCA.com.

CNN has reported that, over the last year, more than 360,000 Americans signed a petition to the White House to have the Westboro Baptist Church legally declared a “hate group.”

Three other petitions against the organisation have also received hundreds of thousands of signatures.
The Obama administration announced in July it is not designated to assign the label to the group, refusing to comment on it, but agreeing that the practice of protesting at military funerals is “reprehensible.”

“His wife is not Winnie, his wife is not Graca. His wife is Evelyn… and what he did was he tomcatted around on her,” he said.

“He didn’t want to hear that he was an adulterer so he put her away. Threw her to the curb like a piece of garbage.”

The church, which consists mainly of members of the large family of Pastor Fred Phelps, has earned many enemies in the United States picketing against homosexuality and gay rights at the funerals of soldiers and other well-publicised events.

Phelps preaches God’s hatred and intolerance, insisting that the acceptance of gay people and the practices of divorce, adultery and abortion, among others, consistently incur His wrath and lead to deaths and disasters.

“God’s hate is merely one of his perfect attributes, like his love, his mercy,” Drain explained.

He said Mandela had lost two of his children and caused South Africa untold problems because he divorced his first wife and took undue credit for helping bring about an end to apartheid.

“Nelson Mandela is just a figurehead and what he wanted was the praise of men, more than he wanted the praise of God,” Drain said.

“And it’s to his eternal shame now, because it’s game over for Nelson Mandela because he’s in hell.

And we’re going to come preach to you about it,” he said.

These sentiments come at a time when millions around the world have been recognising and remembering Mandela’s achievements and contributions towards peace and reconciliation in South Africa.

Drain said he had contacted law enforcement officials in Johannesburg and was waiting for the go-ahead. He did not specify who the SA officials were.

“We are law abiding citizens,” he said.  “We don’t hate anybody and we don’t incite anybody to hate anybody,” he said.

“We’ll be the only ones who truly love by a bible standard, because we’re willing to tell you the truth of the scripture, that you’re sinning against the Lord you’re God and you’re worshipping a sinner.”

Drain said the group had passports and was in the process of booking flights to Johannesburg. Mandela’s funeral will take place in Qunu in the Eastern Cape on Sunday. – eNCA

‘Fake’ Sign Language Interpreter Mars Nelson Mandela Service

For many UK-based Deaf viewers of the Nelson Mandela service yesterday, something didn’t seem quite right about the sign language interpreter (scroll down for video) who stood to the side of the various speakers, ‘interpreting’ what they were saying for the benefit of South Africa’s Deaf population.

The ‘interpreter’ signed in a way I’ve never seen before, a strange repetitive rhythm to his movements – his signs appearing to come in threes or fours, occasionally swinging his shoulders, as if he was signing along with an intermittent beat.

Most puzzlingly, the structure of his hand and body movements didn’t seem to change no matter what the speaker was saying.

And, in one of the most bizarre Deaf stories of recent years, it appears that there really was something wrong – because, according to prominent Deaf South Africans on Twitter, the interpreter was “a fake.”

Which, if true, means that on a day when the world saluted a man who fought oppression, a guy stood on stage and effectively oppressed another minority – Deaf people, by making a mockery of our language.

During the service, rather than remembering Mandela, many South Africans (and others from around the world) who were either Deaf, or work with Deaf people, were expressing their outrage. Like Francois Deysel, a South African Sign Language trainer from Cape Town:

@BrunoDruchen please can someone ask the interpreter to step down from stage, it is embarrassing and making a mockery of our profession — Francois (@FrancoisDeysel) December 10, 2013

Or Wilma Nehoudt, Deaf Member of SA Parliament, World Federation of the Deaf Vice President and Deafsa National Vice Chairperson:

@ANC_KKhoza ANC linked interpreter on the stage with dep president of ANC is signing rubbish. He cannot sign. Please get him off — wilma newhoudt (@newhoudt) December 10, 2013

One of the first Brits to pick up on it was Deaf activist Alison Bryan, who tweeted:

Apparently the “interpreter” at the #MandelaMemorial is not even qualified and making up signs. Deaf people can’t understand him. — Alison Bryan (@Deaf) December 10, 2013

Apparently, a proper interpreter was in attendance, but that wasn’t the person we were seeing:

@EriksonYoung yes the lady on block on screen is an official accredited interpreter. Man on stage is not, he like just positioned himself — wilma newhoudt (@newhoudt) December 10, 2013

In further news, it appears he may have signed on stage before:

@charlie_swin @Deaf He also “interpreted” at the ANC Elective Conference in Mangaung last December. It is as if he came back with vengeance! — Braam Jordaan (@braamjordaan) December 10, 2013

Some questions come to mind:  What possessed a man who supposedly can’t sign to get up there and pretend he can? Who was responsible for booking him? Does he know any sign language at all? Deaf people in South Africa will be looking for answers in the next few days. Above all I feel sorry for Deaf South Africans, who should have had amazing access to the service, with a top-class interpreter there on screen, but got this instead. – The Limping Chicken

South Africa’s largest live music festival, The Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF) takes place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), 28-29 March 2014. Organiser espAfrika is bringing together a selection of the best local and international artists as requested by the fans – the ‘festinos’ – and the 15th festival includes some of the most popular performances from the last 14 years.

CEO of espAfrika, Rashid Lombard says this year’s line-up is great. “We’ve listened to our fans and we think we’ve got an even more exciting – and crowd-pleasing – festival. After all, it is called Africa’s grandest gathering.”

Supporting the festival and particularly in 2014 which marks South Africa’s 20th anniversary of freedom and democracy, Minister of Arts and Culture, Mr Paul Mashatile says: “The Cape Town International Jazz Festival is a great reflection of how far we have come as a nation. The festival showcases our brilliant local talent, while also attracting leading jazz artists from all over the world. This has allowed the CTIJF to help grow a larger skills base within our creative sector, which, in turn, helps strengthen and celebrate our cultural diversity.”

Patricia De Lille, Executive Mayor of Cape Town says: “The CTIJF helps bring people from diverse backgrounds together in a shared common love of jazz. In doing so, the festival helps to showcase the city and how its inclusive approach is of paramount importance. As such, the city salutes the 15th year of the CTIJF and will continue to support the good work this important music festival does.”

SABC spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago says: “The SABC continuously strives to empower and promote the local music industry while also exposing them to international talent. We are privileged to again be an official sponsor and exclusive broadcaster of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival.

The CTIJF allows the SABC to be a catalyst for positive social action and assists in transforming society through the content that it provides.”

The CTIJF is the biggest jazz music event in Africa and one of the first to offer a multi-stage experience. More than just the best music and entertainment festival on the continent – as voted by the fans – the CTIJF offers a sophisticated and comprehensive programme that will ensure the legacy of the festival. This programme encompasses a number of different workshops and interventions – everything from talent development to event management training – and continues throughout the year and makes music important, particularly for young South Africans.

“The social impact of the CTIJF also reflects the 20 years of democracy that South Africa will be celebrating in 2014” said Lombard, “coupled with the fact that Jazz itself is democratic embracing as it does, many different genres and beats, we know that the 2014 Festival and its attendant events, will continue to spark the change needed to ensure that the legacy Madiba created, continues to be fulfilled.”

The official sponsors for the Cape Town International Jazz Festival 2014 are the Department of Arts and Culture and the SABC (broadcast). Other sponsors include Brandhouse, South African Tourism, City of Cape Town, the Western Cape Government and Peninsula Beverages.
